When you start with zero knowledge in the construction trade, it takes ambition and hard work to become the best. Felipe Alvarez-Donis came to this country a farm boy, but he got the opportunity to take a job in construction, starting from the bottom.

Having 15 years of experience, working from the bottom up in the construction industry, Felipe Alvarez-Donis has learned many of its trades. Among them are: carpentry, scaffolding, pipelining, concrete and surveying.

Becoming a Foreman in various of the companies he worked for, he traveled around the country for years, “following the work;” such is the life of a construction worker. But, his life changed when becoming a dad. He took a big risk and decided to stay close to home for jobs. This meant the loss of great-paying jobs, but rewarded him with the gift of seeing his children grow and stay together with the family.

To supplement his income, he started taking on side jobs. A contractor’s license allowed him to gain an increasingly loyal clientele, while still working at local construction companies and even at the Marines Base in Albany, Georgia. Then, in 2008, came the Great Construction Depression and companies around the country started to close for business, letting workers go. Thanks to his past experience at the Marines Base, Felipe found a job there, but soon it was obvious that continuing working by himself as a contractor would give him more autonomy and capacity to fulfill the jobs his clients were asking him to do.

By the mercy of God, FEDA Construction & Landscaping was established. Then, one day ... out of curiosity, he decided to respond a request to make a fence in a large field. This fence would keep in cattle and goats. The rest is history!

We, as a truly family business, are grateful to all of those we've been able to serve over the years. With the inclusion of his son, Daniel, Felipe is sure that FEDA will be able to serve them for generations to come.
